How It All Started

When I look back at the most joyful and impactful parts of my childhood they are marked by the party pictured above. They made a festive house for me to live in as a child and as much as I love party goods, home decor, and festive gifts those things only amplify what is already there. You know what I'm talking about- you can sense it in a crowded kitchen, it's in the air when everyone is quiet right before a prayer for supper, it's why you cry at Christmas commercials. It's nostalgia in the making and it's created around a table. I've always loved a good party and of course I have, I grew up in a wildly chaotic house full of imagination and joy and sisters. My second home had a tall steeple at the top and smelled like carpet and perfume. It's where I learned to sing and where I learned to heal and where I learned that nothing is wasted and every moment is full of a whimsical and awe-inspiring spirit that was doing and is doing, and will do exceedingly and abundantly more than we could ever ask, think, or imagine. Meeting Jesus as a young girl made me really believe that anything is possible- when I found out He spent 3 years around a table gathering people, that He was extravagantly generous and overwhelmingly inviting to strangers I had to be a part of that. It sounded like the party I grew up with.

When I wasn't there I was in the floor of my aunt's florist crafting what I could out of her scraps and eating as many pieces of candy I could find. Her shop was and still is absolutely festive in every way because it's where her and my other aunt are. Valentine hearts, Easter candies, Independence Day fireworks, fall pumpkin carving, Christmas trees full of lights and ornaments, and everyday flowers all bring a sort of festive flare with them but they ooze sentiment because they are all connected to those we love most. The goods we have here at the festive house, like those mentioned above, are made to share. That means you'll find collections of apparel, puzzles, dishes, and party goods to be on our list of products. We believe a festive life is one that is shared with gratitude and learned through shared experience. It's why we celebrate who we know, and workshop what we don't.

There is so much rich life to be experienced around a table celebrating and learning all that life has to offer. I can't believe I get to invite you to mine, see you soon!
